Nolan Creek Hike and Bike Trail is a beautiful amenity right in the heart of Belton, connecting several parks and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Beginning at Confederate Park, the paved trail closely follows the river and travels through Yettie Polk Park and Harris Community Park before ending at the university’s campus.
Although all the parks along the way offer a plethora of recreational opportunities, the Harris Community Park in particular is a standout with a butterfly garden, fishing deck, softball field, and splash pad. Another highlight of the route is a nearly 400-foot pedestrian bridge over the creek; part of the structure includes a Warren pony truss bridge dating back to 1900.
